Daniel Masters is Executive Chairman of the CoinShares Group, a groundbreaking digital assets manager that delivers the most fit-for-purpose crypto investment vehicles to the market. Daniel was among the first traditional investors to get into bitcoin, helping craft the value proposition that many institutional investors now embrace. He is a visionary founder and industry leader in the domain space’s first two NASDAQ-listed Bitcoin and Ethereum tracking certificates. He also co-founded Global Advisors, which notably launched GABI, a first-of-its-kind, Jersey-based, actively managed bitcoin investment strategy in 2014. Prior to GABI, Global Advisors was previously responsible for the Global Advisors Commodity Investment Fund and the Global Advisors Commodity Systematic Fund. He was also involved in the acquisition of XBT Provider, an issuer of stock-exchange traded cryptocurrency tracking certificates. Daniel's career is packed with knowledge of the finance industry having held senior positions at JPMorgan and Salomon Brothers.

GABI

  • Daniel managed the set-up and launch of the world’s first ever regulated Bitcoin Investment Fund to widespread press coverage.

  • He secured buy-in from the government, the JFSC and a diverse group of stakeholders through reputation, powerful presentation, and engaging interaction.

  • He devised a rigorous selection process and secured leading outsourced service providers to further enhance the fund offering and drive the business forward.

 

GLOBAL ADVISORS

  • He was responsible for ensuring effective management and smooth optimisation of Global Operations Services, the US subsidiary.

  • He attracted investors from the US, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan shaping investment and commodity trading strategies initially in the natural gas and metals markets.

  • He spearheaded several investment programmes notably Global Advisors Commodity Investment Fund Ltd and Global Commodity Systematic Ltd managing circa $1bn of client Funds.

  • He orchestrated the consolidation of the two businesses at the height of the economic crisis in 2008 establishing Global Advisors (Jersey) Ltd.

 

ENERGY AT JP MORGAN

  • He was responsible for conceiving and directing innovative trading strategies and performing risk management in all actively traded energy bases including physical markets, forward transactions, swaps, options and derivative products.
