David Duong
David Duong is the Head of Institutional Research at Coinbase, one of the world's most trusted cryptocurrency exchanges. In his role, he creates educational materials and market intelligence for the asset management community. Prior to joining Coinbase, he was Head of Latin America FX Research at HSBC, responsible for managing the research coverage for Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Chile and Argentina coordinating with the economics teams in these countries as part of the research product offering. Previously, Duong spent 15 years working in rates, macroeconomics and quantitative modeling. He was Vice President and Senior Latin America Rates Strategist at Santander Asset Management, where he developed research and trade ideas for institutional clients based on the macroeconomic outlook for the region.

He also leads the crypto efforts of Coinbase's institutional clients, where he examines crypto market themes and protocol risks.
As Chief FX Research Strategist, he published macro views and trade ideas for both HSCB's institutional and corporate clients.
He conducted statistical and econometric analyses, and synthesized complex and diverse data to forecast investment scenarios and recommendations.
He also met with senior portfolio managers and analysts at hedge funds and real-money accounts to discuss currency rates and outlooks.

He was a Latin American Fixed Income Strategist at Deutsche Bank, covering emerging markets sovereign debt markets, government bonds, and FX options.
