Clem Sunter is a prominent futurologist and bestselling author known for his significant contribution to best practice and business in South Africa. He is also an internationally acclaimed authority on management strategy, scenario planning, and corporate social responsibility. He has given presentations globally and has become an ambassador of expert knowledge for South Africa. An icon and model of mental litheness, Sunter is also helping to mobilize the private sector in the war against HIV/AIDS.

CAREER

  • Sunter joined Charter Consolidated as a management trainee in 1966.
  • He spent most of his subsequent career in the Gold and Uranium Division of Anglo American, serving as its Chairman and CEO from 1990 to 1996.
  • He established a scenario planning function in Anglo with teams in London and Johannesburg in the early 1980s.
