Alexander Campbell is the Founder and CEO of Rose AI, a cloud-based data platform that uses generative AI to help organizations efficiently find, visualize, analyze, and share data. He is also the author of Campbell Ramble, a widely followed Substack focused on finance, markets, and macroeconomic themes, and the former Founder of Black Snow Capital, a systematic global macro hedge fund. Campbell brings more than 20 years of experience at the intersection of finance, data science, and technology. Earlier in his career, he was a Global Macro Investor at Bridgewater Associates and a Proprietary Volatility Trader at Lehman Brothers, where he developed deep expertise in quantitative analysis, market structure, and complex financial systems.

Under his leadership, Rose AI has focused on modernizing how institutions find, explore, transform, and monetize data, addressing long-standing inefficiencies and fragmentation in traditional data workflows.

EARLY CAREER
Campbell began his career at Lehman Brothers as a proprietary equity derivatives trader, where he traded convertible bonds, commodities, and volatility across multiple asset classes.
During his time at Lehman, he managed both discretionary and systematic strategies and was responsible for a significant share of desk profitability over a defined period.
He later joined Bridgewater Associates, where he invested in global macro markets and served as Head of Commodities until 2015.
In addition, he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at Thrive Capital, further deepening his experience at the intersection of investing, technology, and company building.
