Peter Brandt is a veteran technical analyst considered as one of the world’s foremost authorities on using classical charting principles for market speculation. Brandt is the Founder of Factor, a global trading firm that operates in the proprietary capital, forex, futures, fixed income and equity markets. In his role, he is primarily engaged in trading proprietary capital, in addition to producing market research and managing the trading activities of several large institutional clients. Brandt has been a futures/FX trader since 1975, starting his career in the commodity industry. In 1990, he published his first book, Trading Commodity Futures with Classical Chart Patterns, now considered a classic by many traders.
EARLY CAREER Brandt entered the commodity trading business in 1976 with ContiCommodity Services, a division of Continental Grain Company. At Conti, he handled large institutional accounts for Campbell Soup Company, Oroweat, Godiva Chocolate, Swanson Foods, and others.
