Mo Shaikh is the Co-Founder and CEO of Aptos, a layer-1 proof-of-stake blockchain infrastructure. Together with Avery Ching, they created Aptos to bring fair access to decentralization to all through a safe, upgradeable and scalable blockchain network. Shaikh has over a decade of experience in multinational financial services, private equity and venture capital focused on blockchain technology, crypto, finance and infrastructure. Prior to launching Aptos, Shaikh has led blockchain Strategic Partnerships for Novi, Facebook’s wallet. Before that, he was the founder and CEO of Meridio, a ConsenSys-backed, blockchain-based company that issued the world’s first fractional share of real estate. He also led ConsenSys’ strategy as an early employee and founded the ConsenSys’ Middle East Office. Shaikh has consulted the World Economic Forum on their global blockchain strategy including Central Bank Digital Currency. He also serves as an advisor to several high profile CEOs that are facing industry-wide disruption.
EARLY CAREER
Shaikh started his career as a senior associate at KPMG, before joining the Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets as a senior analyst.
He joined BlackRock in New York as a real estate associate, and later served as a REIT analyst for ClearBridge Investments.
He was a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group's Private Equity Practice, where he worked on sovereign wealth funds, energy, and telecommunications.
He was the Director of Strategy for ConsenSys, where he worked on blockchain, infrastructure, growth, capital allocation, and incubation.
He joined Meta in May 2020 and worked in Strategic Partnerships @ Novi / Meta until December 2021.
