Matthew Roszak is the Co-Founder and Chairman of Bloq, a leading blockchain technology startup based in Chicago.   • Roszak was first introduced to Bitcoin in 2011 when one of his portfolio companies wanted to see if Bitcoin could be used as a potential payment source.
  • He decided to learn more about Bitcoin by reading Satoshi Nakamoto’s white paper and became fascinated by the potential of Bitcoin
  • With the belief that Bitcoin had the potential to change the world, he wasted no time and dedicated his time and energy to investing.
  • According to him, he gave Richard Branson and Bill Clinton their first Bitcoins.
  • He was named one of the “who’s who of the cryptocurrency world” by The Wall Street Journal.
  • He settled insider trading charges in 2006 related to stock purchases of Blue Rhino, a propane tank exchange business.
  • He recently co-led an initiative to give each member of Congress $50 worth of digital assets; some accepted, but not all.
  • He has testified as an expert before U.S. Congress and spoken at the U.S. Federal Reserve
