Louis Bacon is Founder and Chairman of Moore Capital Management. He is a conservation philanthropist who has dedicated more than two decades to protecting natural resources in the United States and abroad. In this endeavor, Bacon has protected more than 214,000 acres of land in perpetuity across the United States.

  • Bacon instituted The Moore Charitable Foundation to support conservation non-profits that work to ensure the preservation of land, water, and wildlife habitats.
  • He serves on the Board of Overseers at Columbia Business School, the Board of Directors of the Foreign Policy Association, and the Leadership Council of the Center for Public Leadership at Harvard Kennedy School.
  • He is a member of the Corporate Fund Board of the Kennedy Center and the Board of Trustees of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team Foundation. 
  • He was instrumental in founding the Waterkeeper Alliance, the largest and fastest-growing nonprofit solely focused on preserving and protecting clean water. 
  • He donated a conservation easement of approximately 167,000 acres on the Trinchera Blanca Ranch in Colorado to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
  • He was the lead investor in The Forestland Group, a timberland investment management organization that acquires naturally regenerating forests and manages them sustainably.
