Jim Sinclair
Jim Sinclair was a retired Executive Chairman and CEO of TRX Gold, a gold company in Tanzania, and Founder of JSMineset, which hosts his gold commentary as a free service to the gold investment community. Sinclair was a precious metals specialist, a commodities and foreign currency trader, and a respected minerals industry executive. He had been known and respected fondly as “Mr. Gold” since he boldly and accurately predicted the price of gold would rise from $150 per troy ounce in 1977 to $900 per troy ounce. He founded the Sinclair Group of Companies in 1977, which offered full brokerage services in stocks, bonds, and other investment vehicles. The companies, which operated branches in New York, Kansas City, Toronto, Chicago, London and Geneva, were sold in 1983. In addition, he authored three books and numerous magazine articles dealing with a variety of investment subjects, including precious metals, trading strategies and geopolitical events and their relationship to world economics and the markets. Sinclair passed away in October 6, 2023 at the age of 82.
