Anthony Valencia
Anthony Valencia is a Partner at East Los Capital, a lower middle-market private equity investment firm that aims to make the world more productive through technology. Anthony has more than 25 years of investing experience in the public and private markets, including U.S. equities, international and emerging markets, seed level venture capital and real estate. He has a strong professional network bridging the media industry, emerging companies, and Wall Street. He has deep vertical expertise in traditional and digital media, internet and e-commerce, healthcare, hotel & gaming, consumer, and retail. Prior to joining East Los Capital, Anthony was the co-managing member for the Pasadena Angel PA Fund I, which provides venture capital to early stage start-ups. He has appeared as a guest on CNBC, Bloomberg Television, PBS, CNN and has been widely quoted in print publications such as the Wall Street Journal, LA Times, Business Week and others.
Anthony has a demonstrated ability to recommend successful investment candidates to contribute to a company's growth.
He participates in strategic planning, corporate development, marketing and advertising, and talent management.
At PA Fund I, he is involved in all aspects of the investment and Funding process including deal sourcing, screening, and due diligence among others.
He was a Managing Director and Senior Analyst at TCW Group, where he conducted fundamental equity research on publicly traded securities.
Prior to his tenure at TCW, he held positions at Van Deventer & Hoch Investment, Merrill Lynch Real Estate, and Drexel Burnham Lambert.
He had responsibility for positions representing investments of up to $2.0 billion per security for companies such as Google, Pixar, Yahoo, Disney, Amazon, Comcast, Lionsgate, Expedia and Time Warner.
He holds a BA from UCLA in Economics and an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.
