Alex Topping is a Managing Member of Topping Capital, a leading wealth advisor that provides unique access to alternative assets in early-stage venture capital, real estate, and hedge funds. Alex is an equity holder in the firm and an investor in the public-private hybrid fund and various deal opportunities. In his role, he actively assists in due diligence, research, operational accounting and auditing, and mentoring. Prior to joining Topping Capital, he was a Senior Vice President of PNC in their Structured Finance Division. At PNC, his responsibilities included all aspects of pricing, hedging and marketing the whole loan position, and was also responsible for the warehouse lending business where average outstanding loans increased. Previously, Alex was a Senior Financial Analyst at Northwest Industries, where he provided senior management with independent forecasts of the largest operating companies.
At PNC, he increased security and sales from $2B to over $12B, and pre-tax income for the conduit in 1993 to $22 million in 2000.
From 1995 to 1997, was also responsible for the warehouse lending business at PNC, which increased average outstanding loans.
At Northwest, he constructed alternative forecasts, and initiated and developed special projects through online computer systems.
He was also a Consultant for PriceWaterhouse for 4 years before transitioning to Northwest Industries.
He holds a Master's Degree from the Kellogg School of Management and an AB in Economics from the University of North Carolina.
