Ron Hammond is Director of Government Relations at Blockchain Association, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to serving as a unified voice of the blockchain and cryptocurrency industry. Prior to joining Blockchain Association, he was Manager of Government Relations at Ripple, a provider of enterprise-grade, crypto and blockchain tech solutions. Ron served as the crypto policy lead for Rep. Warren Davidson (OH-8), where he spearheaded in crafting the Token Taxonomy Act, the first bipartisan federal regulatory framework for digital assets. During his tenure on Capitol Hill, he authored several pieces of legislation, including the Token Taxonomy Act, Federal Reserve Regulatory Oversight Act, and the Derivatives Fairness Act. Before that, Ron was the campaign manager for three successful Texas State Senate races.
EARLY CAREER
Under Rep. Davidson, Ron served under the House Financial Services Committee, Capital Markets SubCommittee, and Oversight Committee.
He also coordinated educational briefings for Members of Congress, staff, and regulators regarding digital assets with various organizations.
He brought in regulatory heads at the CFTC, FinCen, Federal Reserve, and SEC regarding legislative proposals on financial services, digital assets, and blockchain.
