Abdul Al-Asaad is the Co-Founder and CEO of Basic Capital, a full-stack retirement platform that enhances retirement savings by embedding financing directly into IRAs and 401(k)s. The idea for Basic Capital was inspired by his early career observations, where he saw that even high-earning finance professionals often struggled to build meaningful retirement portfolios. Since its launch in May 2025, the company has gained significant traction, rapidly signing small-business clients and positioning itself as a category-defining fintech in retirement innovation. Al-Asaad began his career in Goldman Sachs’ leveraged finance group and later attended Harvard Business School, where he was named an Arthur Rock Innovation Fellow.
