Vaclav Smil

Vaclav Smil is a renowned Canadian scientist and policy analyst. He has a broad area of interdisciplinary research in the fields of energy, food production, environmental and population change, and public policy, technical innovation, nutrition, and risk assessment. He has published 40 books and around 500 papers on these topics. In 2010, Vaclav was named as one of the top 100 global thinkers by Foreign Policy. He has also been a trusted consultant for many US, EU, and international institutions. A prominent speaker, Vaclav has been invited in more than 400 conferences and workshops in the USA, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa, and has lectured at many universities in North America, Europe and East Asia.
