Scott Wood is the Co-Founder and CEO of True North Advisors, a leading registered investment adviser and multi-family office. Together with co-founder Mark Gehlbach, they launched True North with the single goal of eliminating conflicts of interest in the client-advisor relationship. As True North’s CEO, he is the architect of the firm’s vision, strategy and culture and is a voting member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. Wood is an entrepreneur and business builder with a diverse experience in the financial industry. He started his career at The Chase Manhattan Bank, now JPMorgan & Chase,  most recently as Vice President and Investment Consultant. In addition to his corporate responsibilities, he serves on numerous boards and organizations in Dallas.

  • As CEO, Wood also shares responsibility for shaping the growth, profitability, and marketing of the firm.

  • He leads the firm's Fulfilling Lives™ mission by helping shape a team of advisors to understand what is most important to each client and what they’re trying to accomplish, to build a holistic plan to meet those goals, and then to deliver on that promise.


EARLY CAREER

  • As Vice President and Investment Consultant at Chase Manhattan, he was responsible for the day-to-day management of the new venture’s privately managed accounts and trading operations.

  • He moved to Dallas and began working within a fee-based structure. During that time, he was recognized as a top-ten producer in Chase's national network.

  • He later served as a Financial Consultant at Lockwood Financial, the only independent advisory platform at the time.
