EARLY LIFE AND CAREER TIMELINE

  • Setzer grew up on a potato farm in Central Michigan.
  • Throughout high school and college, she had always been told how great a teacher she would be, so she started her education degree.
  • A year after graduating with a degree, she responded to an ad in the newspaper looking for someone interested in an outside sales position with agricultural experience.
  • This $7.50 an hour position was for a cash grain brokerage firm, where she started her career. 
  • Her years of experience running a diverse and unique direct ship cash grain program has given her an in-depth understanding of basis, spreads and futures
