Syracuse is the fifth-most populous city in the state of New York with a population of over 140,000 people. The city is well-provided with convention sites, with a downtown convention complex, making it One of America’s Best Places for Business, according to Forbes, and One of America’s Top 20 Green Cities, according to National Geographic's Green Guide. Known as the Crossroads of New York State due to its central location and intersection to other routes, Syracuse is also home to three meromictic lakes, including Green Lake, Round Lake, and Glacier Lake.
