Dean Witter Reynolds was a prominent financial services and securities firm. Founded in 1924 by Dean Witter and Charles Reynolds, it was one of the largest firms in the securities industry with more than 9,000 account executives and was among the largest members of the New York Stock Exchange. The firm primarily operated as a brokerage and investment banking company, providing mutual funds and other investment products such as stocks, municipal and corporate bonds, and insurance. Dean Witter merged with Morgan Stanley in 1997, creating one of the largest and most influential financial institutions in the world.
