Founded in 1994 by Ken Tropin, Graham Capital Management has grown into a leading alternative investment manager, specializing in global macro discretionary and quantitative hedge fund strategies.
Tropin developed most of GCM’s core trading programs and oversees the firm’s proprietary capital, serving as Chairman of the Executive and Investment Committees and as a member of the Risk Committee.
Under his leadership, GCM has become a trusted provider of diversified investment solutions for institutional and accredited investors worldwide.
EARLY CAREER
Tropin began his career in finance at brokerage firms Rosenthal Group (later Rosenthal Cramer, now part of Marex) and FCM Shearson Loeb Rhoades.
Prior to founding GCM, he gained extensive experience in alternative investments, serving five years as President and CEO of John W. Henry & Company, Inc. and seven years as Senior Vice President and Director of Managed Futures at Dean Witter Reynolds.
Tropin played a pivotal role in founding the Managed Funds Association and served as its Chairman.
In recognition of his contributions to the industry, he was inducted into the FIA Futures Hall of Fame in 2005.
