EARLY CAREER

  • Loftin began managing the family wealth of T. Boone Pickens in 2010 and served on the renowned energy investor’s investment committee.

  • In 2013, with Pickens’ support, he launched BP Capital Fund Advisors. Pickens later closed the original hedge fund, while the registered investment advisory business continued.

  • Prior to BP Capital, Loftin was a Partner at SteelPath Fund Advisors and SteelPath Capital Management, formerly Alerian, where he focused on energy infrastructure investing.

  • Earlier in his career, he served as Director of Institutional Equity Research Sales at Royal Bank of Canada Capital Markets, concentrating on the energy sector and the MLP asset class.

  • He also held roles in equity research and institutional equity sales at Lehman Brothers and Hoak Breedlove Wesneski.
