Joey Krug
Joey Krug is a Co-Chief Investment Officer at Pantera Capital, one of the world’s largest blockchain-focused investment firms. He joined the firm in 2017 to help manage its Hedge Team. In 2013, Krug built a point-of-sale system that enables Bitcoin payments with sound and Bluetooth. He conducted the first Bitcoin transaction via sound as well as the first Bitcoin transaction via iOS-Android Bluetooth LE.

- Krug started programming in Applesoft BASIC when in middle school after his dad bought him an Apple II GS on eBay.
- He studied Computer Science in college because he enjoys being able to translate his ideas into code.
- He took a leave of absence from Pomona College to focus full time on Augur, a platform for decentralized prediction markets built on Ethereum.
- He started angel investing in 2016 and co-started a top-ranked AngelList Syndicate.
- He is a Thiel Fellow and Edmund Hillary Fellow.
- He is a board observer on StarkWare’s Board of Directors.
