Tor Svelland

Tor Andre Svelland is the Founder, CEO, and CIO of Svelland Capital, an alternative investment management firm focused on commodity and related strategies. Tor has over 30 years of experience successfully investing in the commodity, financial and shipping markets. Tor generates returns from a proven discretionary trading methodology and through deep fundamental analysis of the physical commodity and associated freight markets. He honed his skills working at shipping companies early in his career in Oslo and Athens, at leading financial institutions, and more recently at one of the world’s largest commodity trading companies. Tor started his career in the shipping sector and later worked as Head of Freight Derivatives at Oslo-based Carnegie, Head of Commodities at Pareto Securities, and Proprietary Trader in commodities and freight at Goldman Sachs, and then at Trafigura.
