Dr. Roderick Grierson is the Executive Editor and Director of Research at Strategic Insight Group. During this time at the private intelligence firm, he has supervised the production of over 10,000 reports and geopolitical intelligence projects. This includes a detailed examination of both the private and public sectors in regions as varied as the Middle East, India, East Asia, and Eastern Europe. Dr. Grierson spent a decade organizing a series of global cultural exchange programs. He has also lectured at a broad range of universities, institutes, conferences, and museums.

Academic History

  • Dr. Grierson has contributed to a variety of journals and encyclopedias, including Encarta Africana and Encyclopaedia Aethiopica.
  • He has lectured at the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, and at universities and art museums in the United States and the United Kingdom
  • He became a Fellow of the W.E.B. DuBois Institute at Harvard in 1995.
  • He founded an international NGO with Gordon Dee Smith in 1985.
  • He is a Menteşezade Research Fellow and Director of the Rumi Institute in Nicosia. 
  • He has published extensively on the history of Turkish literature and Anatolian Sufism.
