Rene Reinsberg is a Partner at cLabs, one of the companies building Celo—a mobile-first cryptocurrency. Prior to this, he was an Entrepreneur in Residence at General Catalyst Partners. Reinsberg also served as Vice President of Emerging Products at GoDaddy, where he was responsible for bringing new products to the company’s portfolio. He co-established Locu, a data-focused startup where he served as Chief Executive Officer until its acquisition by GoDaddy in 2013. Today, Reinsberg is an active advisor and investor in over 40 companies.

Academic History

  • Reinsberg started his first software startup out of high school, building one of the early GUI-based POS systems for inventory management for small retailers. 
  • He started his career in global capital markets at Morgan Stanley, where he focused on hybrid bond structuring, corporate debt capital, and structured derivatives.
  • He worked on various finance- and community-building projects while at World Bank.
  • He was awarded the 2011 MIT McGovern Entrepreneurship award.
  • He has appeared as a guest on Real Vision.
