Kevin Dowd is a Professor of Finance and Economics at Durham University. He is a lifelong libertarian whose work is heavily influenced by Austrian and Public Choice economics. His main interests are the history and theory of free banking and private money, subjects in which he has written a few books. Dowd has also a particular interest in financial economics, monetary economics, macroeconomics, and political economy.
