King Saud University, formerly known as the Riyadh University, is a public university established in 1957 as the first university in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The medium of instruction in undergraduate programs is English and Arabic depending on the chosen major. Among Arab universities, its medical programs are highly regarded. In 2003, the Council of Higher Education approved the promotion of the Department of Nursing, College of Applied Medical Sciences, into the College of Nursing.
