Jamie Coutts is a cryptocurrency and blockchain strategist, and Chief Crypto Analyst at Real Vision, a leading media brand where the world's smartest investors and traders share their best ideas. Prior to joining Real Vision, he was a former crypto market analyst at Bloomberg Intelligence, where he created the first crypto research product for the group. During his time at Bloomberg, he was responsible for creating crypto market structure, asset, sector and thematic analysis content for clients. He takes a multi-disciplinary approach to his analysis of this emergent asset class, combining fundamental, technical, quantitative, macro and on-chain data. His knowledge of market structure, on-chain analytics and macro context for this emerging asset class is unparalleled. Before joining the cryptocurrency movement, he spent over 20 years  in the financial markets, starting his career as a stockbroker in Australia.

  • Jamie joined Bloomberg LP in 2014 as an equity specialist driving operational and alpha generation initiatives within the CIO office and investment teams for APAC buy sides. 

  • He also served as a market specialist for Buy Side Equity at Bloomberg, with experience in investment advisory, Equity sales, buy and sell side trading roles.

  • He then immersed himself in the cryptocurrency/digital asset space, helping shape the product offering sales strategy of the company.

  • He has developed a proven track record in delivering enterprise solutions and project management for global and regional asset managers and owners.

  • He also focused on quantitative trading strategies, research management solutions (RMS) and broker evaluation systems for MIFID II compliance.
