Labor Hours Deployed

Labor Hours Deployed is a way of measuring employments based on total hours, not jobs.

How to Calculate

  • Start with the population of 20-69 year olds
  • Assume they could each work 2,000 hours per year
  • Multiply to get the total hours available
  • Divide the total hours worked by those available to get the deployed rate.

Importance

  • More labor hours are essential to pay the taxes required to sustain government commitments and grow the economy
