Dr. Ramon DeGennaro is the Haslam College of Business Administration Professor in Banking and Finance at The University of Tennessee. He served as a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Banks of Cleveland and Atlanta and for the American Institute for Economic Research. Dr. DeGennaro’s current research involves financial markets and institutions, financial regulation, small-firm finance, and public policy. He also consults in the areas of business valuation, investments, and financial management. Dr. DeGennaro has presented original research at dozens of professional conferences. He is the recipient of more than 60 research and professional development grants, and has authored more than 40 articles on investments, financial institutions, small-firm finance, the term structure of interest rates, and prediction markets.

  • He is also a former member of the Academic Board of Directors of the Midwest Finance Association

  • His paper with Thomas P. Boehm was honored as the Best Empirical Paper at the 2007 meetings of the Southern Finance Association

  • His research was featured in the cover story of the Fall 2009 issue of Quest, the University of Tennessee’s research publication, and in the Wall Street Journal. 

  • He speaks frequently at conferences, civic groups, and business meetings.
