  • The Franc is considered to be very safe and stable
  • Investors purchase Francs when markets are volatile
  • When there is large Franc demand, the SNB prints more Francs and buys assets around the world (to keep the Franc stable)



2015 Franc Volatility

  • On 1/15/2015 the Franc went up 17-18% against the dollar/euro
  • This was an unheard of currency swing in a single day
