The Millennial Generation, also known as Gen Y or Millennials, are a set of people born between 1981 and 1996. Perceived to have a hopeful outlook on their lives and the future, millennials experienced greater access to things like postsecondary education, technology, and basic resources than did previous generations, thus paving the way for millennials to focus on achieving the hopes and dreams of a better future. Having been grew up using electronics, the internet, and social media, this generation is regarded as being more open-minded, and more supportive of gay rights and equal rights for minorities. Other positive adjectives to describe them include confident, self-expressive, liberal, upbeat and receptive to new ideas and ways of living. On the down side, millennials are also described as lazy, narcissistic and prone to jump from job to job. Millennials may be simply adapting quickly to a world undergoing rapid technological change.

    • Avoid starting businesses
    • Prolonging marriage, buying houses, etc.
  • Very conventional (fit in, credentials, family life, etc)
  • Achievement Oriented
    • Goal of maximized performance in all aspects of life
    • Flip side is that they are overly stressed
    • Want guidance and direction from their bosses/elders
