Peter Kendall is Chief Analyst for U.S. Markets and Cultural Trends for Elliott Wave International, the largest independent financial analysis and market forecasting firm in the world, where he provides commentary on cultural trends, the U.S. economy and the stock market for the firm’s global market perspective. Kendall is the author of The Mania Chronicles, co-editor of the monthly Elliott Wave Financial Forecast together with Steven Hochberg, and director of Elliott Wave International’s Center for Cultural Studies, where he focuses on popular culture and socionomics. In addition to charting the course of the financial markets, he places the markets within the larger context of big-picture Elliott wave trends in social mood. Kendall is also a frequent guest on business talk radio programs, offering his perspective on market history and big picture analysis.

EARLY CAREER

  • In 1983, Kendall began his career as a financial reporter and journalist and then later on focused on the new science of socionomics and popular culture.

  • He has been a market analyst and editor at Elliott Wave International since 1992 and has contributed to The Elliott Wave Theorist since 1995.

  • In 1996, he edited Prechter’s Perspective, a series of interviews drawn from Robert Prechter’s media commentary.

  • His column “On the Money” appeared in The Business Journal of Milwaukee from 1991 to 1997.
